On our honeymoon in Cancun last May. I think that was the worst sunburn of my life!
Hey, everyone! Gah, I am opening a pet store! This is so crazy. Ok, well, not really that crazy. I did work as a retail manager for several years, and I have been working in the pet industry for several years, and I do absolutely love pets, and helping people, and nutrition and holistic healing, so...yeah, maybe not that crazy. But it is crazy how fast everything is coming together! The idea just popped into my head and wouldn't let go - funny it never popped in earlier, but I guess the universe was waiting for the timing to be right. So it popped into my head, I laid out a business plan that night, saw it was feasible, let my husband think it over for a couple of days, and after he said yes, let's do this, I've been working 16 hour days (8 hours at my awesome full-time job, 8 hours doing this, and teaching at UVU 3 nights a week) every day! I guess that makes me a workaholic, but there is so much to be done! Within a week we had approval for a business loan and beat out another bidder for our new location in Foothill Village, and I think there may be some Universe involved in the timing of it all - it is just meant to be! Of course, it would be even more kismet if we could have opened on our First Wedding Anniversary, but May 1st is a little too soon to get everything together. I've always believed in small, mom and pop businesses, and I have supported them whenever possible. I think it is so cool to actually be able to start my own store and create a personalized, homey experience for people who love their pets as much as I love mine! I am excited to create a community of pet parents and get to know lots of new people. So stay tuned, I will be posting about the people and pets we meet, crucial nutritional information every pet parent should know, fun links and stories, and information about our favorite products.
