Beginning in May of 2018, Desert Raw Holistic Pet celebrates one beloved fur-customer a month! These special fur-babies have wormed their way into our hearts, and we want to tell you all about them! Not only do they get their picture behind our register for the full month, but they get a free bag of treats if they come in for a picture!
At the end of the year we compile these great photos into a calendar and will have them available for purchase at the register. Proceeds will go to our favorite rescue, Nuzzles and Co in Park City! |
June 2019 Pet of the Month
I know it's been a few months - apologies, things are always so busy!
Congratulations to Chloe (on the left) and Cali (on the right). They are both rescue dogs from San Antonio, TX . Their pet parents wanted to shout out their love and support to the rescue who helped them find one another, God's Dogs Rescue. They are also medically certified emotional support dogs. |
February 2019 - Mako and Diorite
Mako and Diorite are both rescues from the locally based Herding Haven. Mako loves sprinting to say hi to everyone while Diorite loves following his mom and dad up rock climbs when he’s allowed. They both wish they could run all of the Shoreline trail every day and think it’s funny to roll in dead fish they find on the riverbed while out fishing.

December - Jagger
Jagger has only been with us for about 6 weeks but in that time he has made a major impact on our family. About a year ago, we consolidated households with my parents and my grandmother in order to assist them after the passing of my grandfather. There are currently 4 generations living in our home (ages 12-90)! Jagger has shown an amazing ability to adapt to the needs of each of our family members. He is playful and energetic with our youngest daughter, intuitive and affectionate with our oldest; he is loving and gentle with great-grandma. He accompanies mom and dad on morning walks and keeps grandma and grandpa company during the day. It is difficult to imagine our household before he came home with us.

September 2018 - Tiny and Luna
How cute are these two?
Their human, Emily, says, "my girls were rescued, left to be put down by a breeder at a vet clinic. I took them in and 3 weeks old. Bottle feed, and nurses back to health. They have a lot of allergies and a few medical issues that persuaded me to switch to raw. Ever since the switch, they’ve been healthier and happier! We love the Desert Raw store!!" You can find these two crazy characters on Instagram at @tinyandluna. |
August 2018 - Maple
What a cool cat - I mean dog!
Niki, Maple's human, says, "We promised our boys that we would get a dog. Nine years later we kept good on that promise when we brought Maple home. There is no question that Maple was supposed to be ours. Being pretty nervous first time pet owners, Maple made the transition easy for us as she won our hearts with her sweet personality. She is almost 1 year old now and is fun, smart and LOVES people. Maple loves to be outside in all kinds of weather, go on walks, play tug of war, fetch, have a good belly rub...and eat! Our groomer is amazed at how beautiful her coat and teeth look and we told her it's because we feed her great food. Thanks Desert Raw!" |
June 2018 - Bodhi
Bodhi has been a customer since literally our first day open, when as a puppy he enthusiastically picked out the biggest toy he could reach! Bodhi's mom says:
"I adopted Bodhi 2 years ago from the 'Because Animals Matter' rescue in Hurricane, UT. It was love at first sight, I was going to take him over the weekend to see how it goes, but called BAM 1 hour after I picked him up and told them they'll never get him back. Bodhi is an adventurer who loves to go hiking and hunt for squirrels and other critters. He loves to go on road trips and explore new places - the photo is of him at the Oregon Coast. He's a happy-go-lucky little guy who loves (almost) everybody :)." We always love when Bodhi comes to visit, even if he is being photobombed by our Asa! |
May 2018 - Annie

Annie was born at Companion Golden Retriever Rescue after her pregnant momma (a purebred Golden) was rescued from a shelter. Jessica and Ram Chapagain were lucky to adopt her after she was surrendered back to CGRR due to changes in her owner’s circumstances. For years she was a wonderful companion to their aging Lab and Newfie. She is a stubborn and silly girl who loves her walks and her toys. She is super-friendly and can’t get enough affection.
Annie has had food allergies since the day Jessica and Ram got her and it's taken many years to figure it all out. Through a near-fatal kidney infection, TPLO surgery, and other seemingly random illnesses, they've learned to keep it simple with her diet, medications, and supplements. At 11 years old, she is happy, healthy, and still going strong.
